Visit with Cousin Izzy and family

After the beach, we secured a taxi to drive us to my cousin's house in a Ashdod, a city south of Tel Aviv.  I asked the desk clerk to secure this taxi and as soon as he told me the cost, I felt a bit uneasy at what appeared to be a very high rate for this.  Later, my cousin told me that in fact, we were taken advantage in what appeared to be an "arrangement" between the clerk and the taxi company/driver.  In any case, lesson learned.  We later returned by train (with my cousin on his way to work), for a fraction of the cost.  It was very good to see Izzy and get a bit caught up.

Wow! Oddly for me, I feel like I would really like to be there with you now. I am glad that you are having a good time.

I told you not to do that through the hotel. You have to do it yourself and haggle...it's the Israeli way!
